Rebuilding Kitchen Walls With SEEDS

Rebuilding Kitchen Walls With SEEDSWith the foundation repaired and the beam replaced in the west wing of the Inn, George was able to finish the floor and lay out walls for the kitchen and accessible Inn room. This week we had volunteers from Traverse City SEEDS non-profit help with that work. Don’t let this cozy looking photo fool you, working in the Inn this past week has been chilly!

The walls in this portion of the first floor of the Inn had to be rebuilt and changed from the original floorplan in order to build out an accessible room for our guests. With all of the remaining guest rooms located on the second floor of the Inn, this fully accessible room and bathroom are essential for visitors of all abilities to enjoy a night in the Inn.

Happy Thanksgiving!

George, Jeff and Maggie along with our BEAR non-profit board of directors are so very grateful to our community, volunteers and donors who have contributed to the rehabilitation of the Sleeping Bear Inn, THANK YOU!
